Shipping to Terminal Vs. Door to Door Auto Transport
When you hire a car transport service, one of the first things they'll want to know is whether you'd like a door to door delivery or a terminal to terminal mode of transfer. Both these methods have their pros and cons and can make a huge difference to your budget and your convenience depending on which one you choose.
Terminal to shipping means that your car will be offloaded at a single shipping terminal in a large storage facility. Usually these will be situated in a large city and all cars that have been shipped through the auto transport company will be off loaded here. The customer is required to pick up his vehicle from the facility and make arrangements to drive it back himself.
Door to door delivery is just that. The auto transport company will deliver your vehicle as close to your address as possible. It doesn't necessarily mean that your car will be delivered right to your door. May times large trailers aren't able to navigate residential addresses. In such cases, the car transport service will notify you about a point of delivery near your address, and you will be required to pick up your car from there. For obvious reasons, door to door to delivery is a more expensive option compared to terminal to terminal shipping.
