Door to door car shipping as the name implies means that your vehicle will be delivered to your home by the car transport company. If your address makes it impossible for the trailer to off load the car right at your front door, the auto transport company will notify you of a place near your address where you can go and pick up your car. This place could be a large ground or parking lot near your address. You can then take delivery of your car after making sure that it's in fine condition.

Door to door shipping costs more than terminal to terminal shipping. If you live far from the car transport company's storage terminal, door to door shipping would offer more convenience than terminal to terminal shipping. You won't have to deal with the added expenses of traveling to the storage terminal and picking up your car from there.

On the other hand, if you live very close to the auto transport company's storage terminal, then you would be able to drive over to the terminal and pick up your car with chalking up too many expenses. In such cases, you would unnecessarily be paying extra for door to door shipping when you can pick up your car without having to spend an additional amount on gasoline. Plus, if you choose door to door shipping you will have to make sure that you're available to take delivery of your car whenever the auto transport service company arrives with your car.
