Clean Out Your Car Before Shipping
Your car needs to be an in operable condition when you hand it over to the auto transport company crew for vehicle transportation. Some auto transport companies may accept cars that are not in prime condition but may charge you extra for this.
Remember to get your car fully serviced before handing over to the auto shipping company.
On the day of the handover, clean out all your personal belongings from the car. Remove all CDs, and other paraphernalia that you may have stored in your vehicle. Transporting a car with personal belongings in it is not allowed by transportation law. If your vehicle contains personal belongings, your car transport service company has every right to refuse to load your vehicle on the car transporter. If you've left some personal items behind in your car by mistake and the company did load your car onto the car transporter, the car transport service is not responsible for the safety of your possessions. Remember to remove the antenna, and the outside mirrors. Even the tire covers should be removed although you can leave a spare tire and jack in the car. Remove the roof racks if any and the alarm systems in your car.
Once you're done stripping your car of all personal possessions, remember to keep these in a safe and secure place so you can easily find them when the time comes to fix them back to the car.
